The spring cleared alongside net 6 |
No big freeze as of yet so the birds seemed to trickle by. Several more winter thrushes were attracted to the nets before they moved on in early February.
The new feeder close to net ride 8 began to draw Reed
Buntings, 17 new ringed birds and 7 retraps, two of which were from Marsworth. An
odd Blackcap turned up at the beginning of January but no over-wintering
Chiffchaffs could be found which is disappointing. However the male Cetti's Warbler, fledged at Marsworth, appears to have survived the winter and was singing
at the end of the month.
